NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS) UNIT
The Chairman of the NSS Unit, Dr. Mithun Chakraborty (Principal DHITM), welcomed all committee members and initiated discussions on NSS objectives.
- All NSS programs should align with community welfare and social responsibility.
- Coordinators proposed yearly campus and off-campus community service events.
- Activities include Swachh Abhiyan, awareness drives, eye camps, blood donation, and cloth donation — promoting the NSS motto: "Service Before Self."
Introduction
The National Service Scheme (NSS) encourages students to engage in meaningful community service, enhancing personality, social awareness, and leadership through constructive societal contributions.

Roles & Responsibilities of NSS Volunteers
- Register officially as NSS volunteers.
- Participate actively in all NSS programs.
- Wear proper college uniform and ID at all activities.
- Assess community needs with coordinators.
- Work under NSS committee supervision.
- Build trust within the community.
- Avoid involvement in any controversial activities.
